Appalling UI
The button to open the main navigation menu has been moved to the OPPOSITE side of the screen to the menu! So you press the button on the RIGHT corner, only to have the menu appear in the LEFT corner! This is an absolutely mystifying design decision that breaks all conventions. It means the app now needs two hands to navigate (right hand to press the button, left hand to scroll the menu - several inches away if using the app in landscape mode) so makes every interaction with the app cumbersome. After struggling with this time-wasting and awkward change of design, I cancelled my subscription and got a refund. This is possible under UK law, because digital goods have to conform to the way they were presented at the time of purchase. When I purchased the subscription, the menu button was on the left. UPDATE Nov 2021: it's astonishing that the FT have responded to several other reviews, but not this one, which I posted in 2020. Would any of the team care to explain the thought process behind the navigation menu placement? UPDATE Nov 2022: any response, team? Why are you ignoring my question? 🌟 UPDATE following developer response: I am pleased to see your response after 2.5 years. However, I find implausible your claim that there was “overwhelmingly positive” feedback to the separation of the navigation button from the navigation menu. ➡️ Can you explain how it benefits the user for the button and menu to be on opposite sides of the screen? ➡️ Can you provide a single example of another app that behaves in this way?

FT App
I dislike the FT App. I wish it was more like the WSJ and Irish Time and Le Monde apps which I subscribe to. These allow the user to scroll through the pages as one does with a paper copy.

SSO isn't working - when I try to log in, there is no option to log in without a password (using an access code). As a result, I'm not able to make use of my University's FT subscription - it would be excellent if this could be patched so I can read FT offline during my commute.

Too bad there is so little available to read for free on this app. I listen to the podcasts, which I like, but can't afford the 65£ a month for your paper. It's a very good newspaper!
